Sarah Jane (SJ) Kerr-Lapsley is a PhD candidate in the Department of Integrated Studies in Education at McGill, and a Vanier scholar. Building on her undergraduate research on Holocaust survivors’ involvement with the Vancouver Holocaust Education Centre, and her MA research on Canadian Holocaust education initiatives, her current research focuses on the relationship between history teachers and external resources, such as museums and community organizations. SJ’s research interests include historical thinking/historical consciousness, teaching and curating difficult knowledge, and formal-nonformal pedagogical collaboration.
